The Twin City Opera House
Just a 20 minute drive north along the Muskingum River to McConnelsville - the Twin City Opera House sits on the village square. It was built in 1890, and has operated continuously since its grand opening in 1892. The theater screens recent films each weekend and hosts many other live events. The Morgan County Historical Society
Also located in McConnelsville, a museum of artifacts and memorabilia from Morgan County, a doll museum, a one-room school, a dungeon, a carriage house, and the fully restored 19th century home of local author Evelyn True Button are among the Society's attractions which are open to the public. The Wilds
About 45 minutes drive, The Wilds is one of the largest and most innovative wildlife conservation centers in the world. Located on nearly 10,000 acres in southeast Ohio, it is home to rare and endangered species from around the world living in natural, open-range habitat. Coal Miners' Memorial Park and AEP ReCreation Land

About 30 minutes away, the Miners' Memorial Park honors the achievements of the men and women who mined coal in this region for many decades. A keystone installation at the park is the giant 220-cubic-yard 240-ton bucket from "Big Muskie," the largest dragline ever built.

Ohio Valley Opry
Do you enjoy country, gospel and bluegrass music? Then the Ohio Valley Opry is the place for you! Regular shows are held the third Saturday of each month at the Twin City Opera House. Doors open at 6:00 pm and shows start at 7:00.
